For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of performing as a drummer/percussionist with various ensembles in the NYC area while teaching music privately at some of New Jersey’s preeminent music schools. Recently, I taught a variety of musical subjects within NYC public schools while completing my Master’s degree from Hunter College, including teaching percussion and music theory at performing arts high school, Talent Unlimited. Most recently, I taught general music to grades 5-8 in Newark, and am now focusing on teaching private clients in-home in the North NJ area.

For me, learning an instrument as a child was a medium which fostered curiosity, creativity and independence. It taught me how to work diligently to achieve specific goals- more than anything it taught me self reflection and the power of process. I feel lucky to say that many of my students have learned similar lessons in our time together, but I also recognize each student has a unique relationship with music.
